INTERVIEW

with

Opera Noire

How long have you been in the music industry?

Since 2005, in this year our first label "gothic slame" found u in a gig at the "Zoë club" in milano, the day after -luca pesenti- the label owner called me on phone told me if we were interested to edit an album

What inspired you to create your type of music?
We are influenced by our way to live, of course.  Influenced by the music we love and by the music we hear accidentally.

Who are your musical influences?
Various, Fabio and William in common deeply love David bowie, Marco, Rouge and Enrico are more "metal", both of use comes from different experience, William was the lead guitar in a well known glam band called-rock n'dolls- Fabio comes from psychedelic band called " 2times", rouge from the official Italian cover band of motley crue (p.s. when u meet him, don't exitate to tell him, nikki sixx he's better) Marco from a heavy metal band called "Midian", Enrico from a Italian rock band called "mercuro cromo"

What type of practice schedule do you have?
Usually William and Fabio meet and start to write the song, often William alone write the bone of the song. The band then will develop the rest.

What is your favorite gift ever given to you by a fan?
Our best gift is to see the emotions painted on the fans faces.

What are your plans tours and festivals wise this year?
No idea, we want to play.  That so easy to say, but so hard to do. We aren't a mainstream band, and in Italy you can find a lot of difficulties if u aren't a pop band -whit some song in radio- or you aren't a cover band. That sad, there are a lot of great band all over and there is ever less place to play. In addict, the club don't want to pay the right to bands . . . so often bands are going to play gratis.
This year we deal with a German booking agency "loud and proud" we actually are satisfied of the great work they do for us, so we hope to tour around Europe someday!

Are you planning on expanding your tours to the US this year?
Sound strange we have a lot of fans asking us to tour in USA, as we told to they, would be our biggest dream, but at the moment it's impossible, we don't have money, contacts and plans to come.

How valuable do you feel internet radio will be to the future of new artists?
we think people spent ever much times in front an computer, so there are ever many possibilities that people listen an internet radio than a on air radio.
And of course internet radio can live outside the commercial rules while on air radio are bended to these rules, and for our point of view the music of on air radio make us a stronger hurts to defecate!

What is the craziest thing some one has done to meet you?
Ohh it's not so hard to meet us, we are every weekend in the dark-gothic club of milano

Do you feel a Street Team is vital to the expansion of new artist fan base?
Street teams are really important, especially for band out of mainstream business and for the independents label.
To have a group of people who 'hit the streets' promoting the band can only enlarge the bases of fans, and anyway. If only a person make a work for you and your band, it make so proud of the work you do to give they some emotion."

What would you consider your fan base to be?
They have to be true, as we are... and a warning for the new generation we meet recently...-try to be more rock.n roll, less thought more action please-
uhh another warning . . . stop cutting yourself ..It's so stupid!

How is your album doing so far?
we still are working to the our 2nd album, for the truth we finished it recently, we are working on small things, we pass a day to decide if the guitar have to be a db less or not in a part of the riff, for example, but at moment we haven't had a serious request to publish it from any label. So if someone interested come on, we are ready.

Do you notice a difference in the audiences based on the countries?
We can answer to this question only through My space responses. we are really appreciate in all the word, but the large crowd of fans come from USA, we don't know if they are addicted to this kind of music, or they have more possibilities to use internet.

What's your favorite country to tour in?
our dream would be in USA, but we would be glad to tour everywhere.

Have you listened to Castlestone Radio? What do you think about its variety?
yes but we only recently start to listen it. as first impression we got to admit it sound really, really interesting.

Could you imagine yourself doing anything other than what your doing now career wise?
If so, what would that be?
ohh, not any problem William will turn back to play guitar in central station, Fabio with his dog sitter hated work, Marco in some office, rouge, ohh rouge he's born to do a rock star.
Enrico have to finish his university.

What inspired themes of your music?
our life . . . as we told before.

Who would you like to tour with?
Fabio and William: David Bowie!!!! marco: 69 eyes, rouge: motley crue, Enrico: Rammstein

What would be your dream tour?
a gig in the playboy house ;)
